Connections
When
evolving within the world of pure bred dogs, and moving
from her previous efforts with Australian Silky Terriers
to Cairn Terriers, Ginnette sought a mentor in the
breed. She has greatly enjoyed the friendship offered
by Cathy Scotton of Joymont Cairn Terriers.
Ginnette has benefited enormously from having
access to Cathys' knowledge of Cairns, accumulated
over more than 20 years of showing and breeding Cairn
Terriers. Cathy has become a great friend and mentor,
and has the sincere gratitude of all at Emeraldcity
for her assistance and ongoing support. Emeraldcity
Cairn Terriers is proud to carry on the tradition
of excellence that has always been displayed at Joymont
kennels, Australia’s premier Cairn Terrier breeder.

has many connections to Emeraldcity. He was sired
by Van who now resides at Emeraldcity, and two of
his puppies are at Emeraldcity, Woody and Lily.
Skye
has won multiple Best In Show awards, as well as
In Show and Group awards under renown Breed
specialists such as Mrs Judy Parker-Tucker (Uniquecottage
Cairn terriers, UK) and Mrs Ferelith Hamilton
(UK). He won Best of Breed at Sydney Royal in 2000
and 2001, before moving to Seoul, South Korea for
2003 and 2004. In Korea, Skye has also won Best In
Show and other top awards, a feat never before
achieved by a cairn terrier in South Korea.

and Son
Cathy Scotton (Joymont) and Ginnette
(Emeraldcity) enjoyed the unique experience of
showing Father and Son together, at the Canberra
Easter Classic All Breeds shows in 2001. On the
final day of showing, Skye won Best In Group and
Van won r/u Best In the Terrier Group. It is quite
an achievement, for not only the same breed to win
Best In and runner up Best In Group, but for those
two dogs to have the same breeder, and to be
Father and Son at that. This unique and
distinctive achievement was reported on in the
following months National OzDog newspaper.

Dam: Norway and Swd Champion Sarimont Solarra
Nellie
was sired by Skean-Dhu Rough Diamond who has sired
over 15 Champions. Skean-Dhu’s father, Norway,
International and Swedish Champion Sarimont Simon
Templar was a top producer in Sweden with over 30
Champions. Scorzonera’s Grand Father, Swedish
Champion Qarnax Dante was Cairn of the Year and
Terrier of the Year in Sweden in 1988.
Nellie
is the first and currently the only Swedish Cairn
Terrier to be imported to Australia. For this
reason, she will always form an important part of
the history of the Cairn Terrier in Australia. She
was a Swedish Champion and quickly gained her
Australian Champion title after arriving in
Australia. Nellie
is the Mother of Gr Ch Joysum Van Morrison, now at
Emeraldcity.
Ch Joymont Bayou Belle (Belle)
Belle
had the honour of winning Best In the Terrier
Group at Sydney Royal Show in 1998, a feat few if
any Cairn Terrier girls have achieved. She is the
Mother of Ch Joymont Tiger Woods now at
Emeraldcity, and the Grandmother to Emeraldcity
Precious Gem (Gemma).
Ch Joymont Monti Carlo (Monti)
Sired
by Gr Ch Joymont Hudson, Monti won BEST IN SHOW at
the Canberra and District Sporting Terrier Show
under Mr W Godfrey (SA) in 2000.
R/u BEST IN SHOW was Monti’s half
brother, Gr Ch Joysum Van Morrison, now at
Emeraldcity.
This was an amazing outcome, as it is rare
that the same breed will win Best in Show and r/u
Best In Show, let alone 2 dogs bred by the same
breeder, and half brothers at that!
Monti
is the sire of Ch Joymont Dunlops Dash, now at
Emeraldcity, and Grandsire to Emeraldcity Fairweather.
